Resources for Successful Doulas

resources for successful doulas

As a postpartum doula, it is important to have resources available for your clients. As a doula trainer, it is important for me to provide you with some professional resources to help you along the way so you can be successful.

I have a dear friend and colleague named Betsy Schwartz who has some great information for you on how to be successful as a postpartum doula.  Betsy is the founder of Tenth Month Doula Services created in 1994, former DONA and CAPPA postpartum doula trainer for many years and continues as a certified postpartum doula for more than 20 years.  She has trained hundreds of doulas throughout her career.  She is also the creator of the game “Down the Canal” a fun board game about pregnancy, birth and postpartum and owner of BirthElearning for online courses.

Her website called “Birth in the Know” is a culmination of all her passion and knowledge about birth and postpartum into one venue and a great resource for you. She is currently offering a free online course called “How Starting the Doula Journey on the Inside is the Only Way to Success”.  Visit her website at  and sign up for this free course.  Her blog also has some great articles on the ten secrets of postpartum doulaing.

Her online classes website at has several courses with many that will give you CEU’s.  I also have an online class on her Birth E Learning website called “Exploring Infant Sleep” biology, rhythm and practices. It is approved for 5 CEU’s and is a great introduction to infant sleep during the first 6 months for postpartum doulas, parents or anyone interested in infant sleep.

I hope you will check out these resources for successful doulas and get on track for a prosperous year in 2017.  You deserve it!
